Last Friday your four month well-baby visit went really well. Dr. Sage says you're perfect in every way, "she's doing beautifully" she kept repeating. "Look at her tone," she would say as she watched you on your back doing little belly crunches. "It's exactly what she should be doing!"
We beamed, of course. What a relief for us. In one month you went from being in the 10th percentile for your weight to about the 40th. So the power-feeding really worked. That night we felt confident enough to start putting you down to sleep through the night. By Sunday night you were slumbering the whole night through.
You're doing all the things a four month old should be: reaching for things, pulling your hands together, following movement and voices, drooling, smiling, squealing from time to time. You're a delight to behold.
In the weeks ahead we are going to start you on solid food: a little bit of rice cereal mixed in with your milk. You haven't really shown signs yet of wanting solid food so there's no rush. So for now we are content to enjoy our well-baby who sleeps through the night!
