Today is your birthday! Five months anyway.
This morning when I was feeding you your dad popped in the nursery with camera in hand, beaming and ready to document the milestone. "It's her birthday," he said to me proudly.
So today we quietly celebrate five full months of your little life.
You still smile much of the time and are mostly good-natured. You're over 15 pounds now and have the typical chubby baby legs, though your torso is still rather lean. Your eyes are tending towards blue-ish grey with little hazel flecks around the pupil. Blue eyes run in the Mason family so there's a chance they may get bluer.
And you continue to delight us with your developments. You're initially cranky when we lay you down on the changing table. So this morning when there wasn't a toy close by to amuse you with, I handed your a pacifier to play with while I got down to the business if changing your diaper. I expected you to maybe hold it for a moment and then drop it, but to my surprise you were staring at that pacifier intently, then steadied it towards your mouth, and plunked it right in like a pro. I was impressed by your dexterity and determination. And of course I was so proud. Watching you grow is one of the most rewarding experiences I've ever known.
